Title: Automated Material Handling Equipment (AMHE) Mechanic Temporary AssignmentKBR is seeking an Automated Material Handling Equipment (AMHE) Mechanic in Danville, KY. This temporary, 90-day assignment plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials in support of operational and production needs. Roles and Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance on automated material handling systems, including conveyors, sortation systems, AS/RS, robotic arms, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs)
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software-related equipment issues
- Replace worn or defective parts, lubricate components, and ensure optimal system performance
- Monitor system operations to identify irregularities, performance degradation, or potential failures
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and resolve faults efficiently
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new or existing automated equipment
- Calibrate systems to manufacturer specifications and operational requirements
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, procedures, and company standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage
- Participate in safety audits and respond promptly to system-related hazards or incidents
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, and IT teams to resolve issues
- Provide feedback on equipment reliability and recommend improvements to enhance system performance
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on industrial maintenance experience
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting automated material handling systems
- Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and basic software-related issues
- Familiarity with conveyors, sortation systems, robotics, and AGVs
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and electrical drawings
- Experience using diagnostic tools and maintenance software
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, industrial environment
- Commitment to safety and compliance with established procedures
- Ability to work onsite and support 1st shift operations
Preferred Qualifications- Associate degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field
- Experience with robotic palletizers, carousels, and pick-and-place robots
- Knowledge of automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS)
- Hands-on experience with AGVs and advanced robotic systems
- Proficiency with diagnostic and monitoring software tools
- OSHA safety training or equivalent certification
